You don’t have to play the ukulele to enjoy Las Cruces UkeFest and amazing ukulele music! We invite those who don’t play (and don’t intend to learn just year) to join us for the Las Cruces UkeFest concert, Friday, May 19, 2023, at 7 p.m. Because we want people to be able to experience the joy of the ukulele, tickets for those 13 and older are only $10, while those 12 and under are admitted FREE with a paying adult! You can purchase tickets in advance through Brown Paper Tickets by linking through on our Register page or buy tickets at the door for the same price. The concert will be performed at the Doña Ana Community College East Mesa Campus auditorium.
Who will you hear? Our instructor/performers this year are all talented musicians in their own rights, but together they are the Smoking Jackets. The Smoking Jackets are virtuoso multi-instrumentalists who also happen to be passionate ukulele instructors. They bring their brilliant bon vivance together for some serious music and comedy. Daniel Ward and Heidi Swedberg are joined by long-time collaborators John Bartlit and Craig McClelland for twisted takes on jazz, flamenco, classical and pop standards. It’s like a Pink Martini shaken by Victor Borge and served to Dean Martin … up with a twist!
Check out the Instructor pages under Workshops and read the bios of our amazing performers.
