The Las Cruces UkeFest is hosted by the Las Cruces Ukes, a nonprofit community group of ukulele enthusiasts in southern New Mexico. The club formed in 2013 and has since given more than 100 performances around the community and offered several quality workshops with instructors like Mark Baker and Jim D’Ville.
The Las Cruces Ukes practice weekly on Thursdays at Las Cruces Village, 3011 Buena Vida Circle, in the Social Center’s Creative Arts Room. Our Strum for Fun group (the best to drop in to visit us!) gets together from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., then our performance group practices for whatever gig is next from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Join us for an evening of ukulele fun!
In 2017, we held our first full-scale festival to rave reviews and a sold-out concert. In 2018, we moved the concert to a larger venue and had more than 300 ukulele lovers in the house! Due to the COVID-19 virus, our fourth festival which would have taken place in 2020 was postponed to 2022, although virtual festivals were held in 2020 and 2021. Our fifth Las Cruces UkeFest was held with a group of amazing New Mexico-based instructors and 2024 and 2025 featured more top-notch performers. Now, we’re preparing for the 2026 festival!
